Welcome to the Orcutt School for Independent Study. Orcutt Union School District is proud to offer an Independent Study program for families seeking an alternative educational pathway. This program is currently housed on the Ralph Dunlap Elementary campus. We provide options for:
- Independent Study
- Includes a full at-home learning experience with some virtual instruction.
- Hybrid (blended) Study
- Provides a blend of at-home learning with additional in-class, on-campus instruction.
- Dual-enrollment
- For junior high in which up to two classes are offered in person at one of our junior high campuses with the remaining classes being virtual/blended.
To begin the enrollment process, please click the Intent to Enroll button.
Once notified of acceptance, official online enrollment can begin for all students not currently attending OUSD.

Report a threat to student safety, a bullying situation, or any other non-emergency safety concern.
Information submitted will be sent to the school principal. This form is anonymous, but you will be given an opportunity to provide your name and contact information if you wish. While this is not a 24/7 monitoring system, we review reports as quickly as possible when school is in session.
